Here's an ongoing account of our babies' increasing cuteness - observe with caution!

No pics today, just an update from our visit with Dr. Baumgard (their pediatrician) today.

the kids healthy appetites are showing their worth! They have both put on a huge amount of weight over the past two weeks...

Ainsley went from her birth weight of 6\1, down to 5\10, and is now a whopping 7\5!!

Fin started life at 7\4, went down to 6\15, and has now come up to 8\10! Holy crap, eh?

Oh, and get this - For those of you that were visiting and saw Fin's weird neck bump - it is called a sternocleidomastoid tumor. Sounds very serious, but the name sounds way worse than the actuality. Basically when in utero his neck was compressed and grew too short on one side and got inflamed. The treatment? Our little boy has to go to physiotherapy! Who ever heard of a 3 week old going to physio! Hilarious!

Finally, both kids have thrush (a yeast-type infection that makes for sore bottoms) so are on medication for that. Other than that, they have a clean bill of health - although Dr. B. did say that we cold probably slow down on the feeding a little bit, since they are way above average. This is welcome news, since its tough to get rested when you're feeding every hour through the night (no kidding!!)

So, today the kids went on their first hike! We took them to Capilano River Park in North Van with Granny and Poppa to watch the salmon spawning and take a little walk through the woods to see the canyon lookout. It was a little rainy but we all still had fun and no one got too cranky (not even Poppa!!)

Granny and Poppa are leaving tomorrow, so we will be left alone with the kids in a permanent fashion for the first time since coming home from the hospital - yikes!! I think we'll be alright... maybe... :)

So, today we had Opa (yes, he's Opa, not Grandpa!!) and Auntie Val visit for the afternoon. They brought lots of nice presents for the kids and had a great time helping with feedings.

Sally also made her first solo voyage out of the house today to go fill a prescription! How exciting! It was the first time she drove the car since mid-July! She finally fits again! Very much joyous celebration occurred.

No time to write more - crying babies on the verge. ;)
